Choose your favourite little creature of the night—a preserved spider, scorpion or Death’s-Head Hawkmoth—and transform it into your very own miniature display.

Get creative with preserved moss, flowers, wood and other decorative elements as you build a scene that can be dark and gothic, whimsically witchy, beautifully botanical, or completely unhinged in the best possible way.

While you create, we’ll introduce you to the fascinating world behind these often misunderstood creatures. Discover the incredible adaptations of spiders and scorpions, take a closer look at their anatomy, and learn what makes the iconic Death’s-Head Hawkmoth—with its skull-like marking—such an unusual and memorable species.

Don’t worry, there are no surprise eight-legged escapees here. Your specimen has already been professionally preserved and prepared, so this workshop focuses on the fun part: designing, decorating and creating your display.

Perfect for curious minds, oddity lovers, budding naturalists and anyone whose idea of cute includes slightly more legs than usual. 🖤

Workshop Details

• Suitable for participants aged 10 and above

• No prior experience required—beginners and curious creatures welcome

• Choose from a spider, scorpion or Death’s-Head Hawkmoth

• Create your specimen in a dome or frame, depending on the workshop option selected

• Specimens are already preserved and prepared; this is a decorative arrangement workshop

• Preserved moss, flowers, wood and other decorative materials are provided

• All essential tools and materials will be provided during the session

• Take home your very own handmade oddity display

We work with real preserved specimens, which means no two are exactly alike. Size, colour, markings and appearance may naturally vary—consider it nature making sure your creation is truly one of a kind.

• Assemble and articulate a real scpecimen dome of your choice

• Receive guided instruction throughout the entire process

Workshop Attendance Policy

Only registered participants are permitted to remain in the studio during the workshop. Family members, friends, and other accompanying guests who have not signed up will be asked to wait outside for the duration of the session.
